Crazy about coconuts — from Kwale, Kenya to your kitchen in the UAE
Kentaste began in 2014 as a small family business on Kenya's south coast, in Kwale County, where coconut palms grow between the Indian Ocean and the Shimba Hills. Today it is East Africa's leading coconut producer, working with more than 3,200 smallholder farmers and around 160 permanent staff, and exporting to Africa, Europe, the USA and the Middle East.
Kentaste UAE brings that same range to homes, restaurants and shops across the Emirates, imported and distributed by Geopack General Trading LLC, Dubai, Kentaste's official Middle East distributor.
Why Kentaste
- Straight from the source. Coconuts are bought directly from Kwale farmers and processed in Kentaste's own facility, so nothing passes through a long chain of middlemen.
- Nothing wasted. Every part of the coconut is used: the water, the flesh for milk, cream, oil, flour and chips, and the shells and husks.
- Certified organic, certified quality. Coconuts come from certified organic smallholder farmers. Kentaste is USDA Organic, Fair for Life, Halal and Kosher certified, with FSSC 22000 and ISO food-safety certification at the factory.
- A fair share for farmers. Kentaste's model is built so the farmers who grow the coconuts share in the rewards.
The range
Virgin coconut oil (cold-pressed, for cooking, hair and skin), coconut milk and cream for curries, desserts and coffee, coconut water in three flavours, crunchy coconut chips, desiccated coconut and gluten-free coconut flour.
